Rural Road Safety Awareness Week
September 28 – October 2nd, 2020 is Rural Road Safety Awareness Week.
In the U.S., 70% of roads are rural, while only 19% of the population is (source: NHTSA 2020). What does that mean? There are more than 9x as many lane miles per 100,000 residents in rural areas! The risk of fatality or serious injury is twice as high on rural roads compared to urban roads.
This week, join us on social media to learn about rural road safety, needs, challenges, and solutions, as we continue to work towards #VisionZeroMT.
